The Fashion History Museum in Hespler makes for a lovely and not too distant drive to the west of the city.\u00a0 Their exhibit: &#8220;Wild and Rare: Fashion and Endangered Species&#8221; which opened October 6th in Gallery 1 includes a few pieces from our Fashion Resource Centre.\u00a0 We\u2019ve provided a purse with Kangaroo fur as well as an ocelot coat.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201c200 years of Wedding Attire Exhibition\u201d is awash in all shades of white and some beautiful bridal pieces.\u00a0 This exhibition runs until December 18, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fashionresourcecentre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1729\" src=\"http:\/\/fashionresourcecentre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o.jpg\" alt=\"13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1111\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fashionresourcecentre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/fashionresourcecentre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o-300x162.jpg 300w, https:\/\/fashionresourcecentre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o-1024x555.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/fashionresourcecentre.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/13317018_1029467120436480_895048525459265555_o-620x336.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you are already west of the city, the Guelph Museum is just a few minutes away from the Fashion History Museum and is celebrating the fashion career of Lady Lucille Duff Gordon. Originally from the Guelph area, Lady Duff survived the Titanic and is remembered for \u201cinventing\u201d the fashion show as well as the Merry Widow, wide brimmed hats so popular at the turn of the twentieth century.<\/p>\n<p>The garments on display are truly amazing because they are so incredibly delicate. For more details:<br \/>\nhttp:\/\/guelphmuseums.ca\/event\/lucile-fashion-titanic-scandal\/<\/p>\n<p>Although not technically \u201cfashion\u201d the Dale Chihuily glass exhibition at the ROM is a masterful use of colour, texture and pattern that needs to be experienced! It shows a range of outstanding men\u2019s shoes from the 1800\u2019s beautiful shoes worn by members of the aristocracy to the rhinestone encrusted platforms of Elton John.
